I am Julie Victoria and I have been a qualified and NMC registered nurse since 1999 working in the NHS since 1995. I have worked in a range of primary and secondary care settings and I have held a non medical prescribing qualification since 2013. I have been practising in aesthetics since I trained at cosmetic courses in 2013 and I am continuously training and staying update with new and advanced aesthetic treatments. I split my working life between working for Central London Community NHS Trust as a community Matron and treating my aesthetic clients.
I have been married to my husband since 2014, and am privileged to call myself a mum to two amazing children and I enjoy spending time with my family. I live alongside 27 animals, fury to feathered, I enjoy being in nature and am working hard to incorporate essential self care into my day. In the past few years I have been studying a psychology masters degree, and I began training as a psychotherapist in 2023. I now hold a diploma in hypnotherapy and I am a level 4 trained counsellor, studying the final year to become a psychotherapist. I am passionate about emotional wellbeing and believe we cannot feel good about ourselves on the outside (no matter how good we look) if we do not feel good about ourselves on the inside.
I am an experienced nurse working within a range of medical fields since 1999. I started my career working in A&E working up from a junior staff Nurse to a an emergency dept Sister and an emergency nurse practitioner for several years. I then spent 10 years in primary care working as a fully autonomous Nurse practitioner treating a range of health complaints, gaining lots of general practice experience including managing acute skin conditions, minor surgical skin procedures, wound care, women's health, menopause, cancer screening programs, well man and well women checks. I worked as a Modern Matron within the NHS in a community setting for 6 years, with people with long-term conditions to prevent hospital admission. I am still practising in the NHS but have moved into the field of Mental health within the community, while training as a psychotherapist. I am a qualified counsellor, and I also hold a diploma in Hypnotherapy and am registered with the National Hypnotherapy Society, National counselling and Psychotherapy Society.
I trained as an Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner after I became a nurse prescriber back in 2013 due to a love of skin care. Once qualified, I worked in aesthetics alongside my NHS role building up a solid and trusted client base. Working within the field of aesthetics, I realised quickly how rewarding it is to help someone improve things about themselves that cause them to feel less confident and reduces their self-esteem. I now specialise in restorative aesthetics, improving the signs of ageing is my passion, giving people back their confidence. I have a passion for Mental health and wellbeing, and I take into account clients emotional health when looking at aesthetic treatments. I offer honest and ethical advice, and I never pressure anyone into any treatment. I am competent in a range of skin care treatments including skin assessments, anti-wrinkle treatments, filler treatments, skin boosters, B12 injections and complications management. I also love sharing knowledge, I have a teaching and assessing qualification and I will mentor new staff coming into aesthetics.
At JV Aesthetics you are in safe hands, I am trained as a medical professional to do no harm and I apply this to my Aesthetics clients and will never undertake any treatment I do not believe will benefit my clients. I will never undertake a procedure that is not in the best interest of my client or a treatment in which the benefits do not outweigh the risk.
I pride myself on being a holistic practitioner, treating the whole person including their emotional health and wellbeing and not seeing someone as a treatment or procedure.
Being a medically trained Nurse Practitioner and Nurse prescriber, I work with clients holistically using an aesthetic medical model. When I am with a client, I am interested in them as a whole person, looking at medical history, medications, skin care routines, supplements and nutrition, and most importantly how they feel about themselves. A consultation consists of meeting their aesthetic needs, as well as exploring any concerns they have with their health, and wellbeing, I can advise on a range of health related topics from hormones and menopause to skin care. Being a medical professional and an advanced Nurse Practitioner, I am able manage any complications that may arise as a result of an aesthetic treatment and will often see people for corrections of a treatment performed elsewhere. I am registered as a Non-medical Prescribing Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), am fully insured, and I am a member of the British Association of Medical Aesthetic Nurses (BAMAN). Being a nurse prescriber I do face to face consultations for all my clients at the point of treatment and am fully autonomous in my Aesthetic role.
